Brunch Scene Investigation is an extremely biased, less than detailed account of brunch cocktails in and around the 617, now with meaningless ratings!

Colette Wine Bistro - Fresh Orange Juice

For the low low price of just $6, you can get a very refreshing Orange Juice on the rocks in Porter Square. You might say, "Hey now, that seems a little much for just a simple OJ, is it worth it?", and I'm here to tell you that it is not. It is however, among the best glasses of Orange Juice I've had in my life. $6 is just too much for any non-alchoholic OJ. (4/10)

Little Donkey - The One in a Grapefruit

Little Donkey brings the house down with their signature "The One in a Grapefruit". This creative cocktail (which as the name suggests, is served in a hollowed out grapefruit), definitely has alchohol in it. No one at my table could seem to figure out just what kind of booze it was, and I don't think the people sitting on either side of us appreciated my berating them to try it and help me figure it out, but I enjoyed two of them nonetheless. Served with a lime-slice-on-a-toothpick garnish, this drink is fun for the whole family. And have no fear, Little Donkey is nice enough to have this fruity libation available at all hours of the day, not just for brunch. (8.2/10)

Backyard Betty's - Mimosa

Backyard Betty serves her mimosas in a fun stemless flute with a single blueberry and an OJ cube. At just $5, it's the perfect brunch drink to have three or four of to start off your Sunday. Taste-wise, theres no frills here, it's just a pretty good mimosa. (7/10)
